Long-Range Lightning Interferometry Using Coherency

چکیده

Traditional lightning detection and location networks use the time of arrival (TOA) technique to locate events with a single stamp. This contribution introduces simulation study lay foundation for new concepts. Here, novel interferometric method is studied which expands data maps into an area by using coherency. The amplitude waveform bank, consists averaged waveforms classified their propagation distances, first used test methods. Subsequently, extended individual event waveforms. Both phase coherency analytic signal are here further develop method. To determine avoid interference between ground wave skywave, two solutions proposed: (1) small receiver network (2) apply impulse response function recorded waveforms, uses represent occurrence. methods effectively remove skywave interference. potentially helps identify without from skywaves long-range low frequency (LF) network. It planned expand work reflecting variety ionospheric geographic scenarios.
